Bio

An OG member, Chris has been a part of the amazing BARx community since the early days in the tiny storefront in Des Peres. Experiencing the life-changing effects of CrossFit on his own well-being was enough to spark a passion to learn how to pass it on to others as a trainer and coach. In 2014 he began his coaching journey, playing a key role in developing, and as a coach for the BARx Kids program. In 2017 he shifted to coaching adult classes. To this day, he wakes with a drive and intention to learn, grow and improve his craft in order to provide a great class experience and make others better athletes. Chris has a uniquely laid-back approach to training and coaching, with a huge focus on meeting athletes where they are on their overall fitness endeavors, as well as where they are on any particular day. He also has a mission to convince people that burpees are an amazing and beneficial exercise and should be loved instead of scorned. Aside from his deep devotion to burpees, Chris’s favorite weightlifting movement is the deadlift and he enjoys a good short sprint workout that includes anything on the pull up bar, except for Fran. When he’s not at BARx, you will probably find Chris making golfers better athletes with golf-specific fitness training, playing golf, hiking, or spending time with his family, including his two daughters. Or, he may disappear for a while following his favorite jam bands around the country.
